The following is a description of the type of energy rating required for most types of developments:
● New Homes, Unit Developments & Apartments (Class 1,2, & 4): 6 star energy rating required using Firstrate5 energy modelling Program or Building Code of Australia, Vol. 2, Sec 3.12.
● Home Additions: (Class 1,2, & 4): Building Code of Australia, Vol. 2, Sec 3.12 compliance is required for energy modelling.
● Commercial Developments (Class 3,5-9): Building Code of Australia, Vol. 1, Sec J compliance is required for energy modelling for air-conditioned spaces.

Building alteration work including extensions less than (the lesser of) 1000m2 or 25% of existing floor area
